Strategy Director
Country of origin: VIETNAM
Tony was just a baby when his family was rescued along with dozens of Vietnamese refugees by an oil-drilling team off the coast of Malaysia. His family spent almost a year in refugee camps before arriving in Australia. A convent in Glen Iris offered them a place to live until his parents could find work to support their five children.
They worked overtime in manufacturing to make ends meet for over 20 years.
At 11 years of age, Tony sold socks at the Queen Victoria Market for pocket money. His natural talent for selling would ultimately lead to a career in marketing, advertising and creative strategy for iconic brands such as Australia Post, Clarks, Cotton On, Kmart, the Victorian State Government and Vinnies Australia.
Today, Tony is the strategy director for Integrity, an award-winning Melbourne-based digital marketing consultancy that is well known in the not-for-profit space. He volunteers with the Tomorrow Foundation, I Came by Boat and the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre.
